Shop Mechanic Assistant – Full Time

Gast Construction is seeking a reliable, full-time Shop Mechanic Assistant to support our shop operations and lead mechanic.

This position will focus on light maintenance and mechanical tasks, assisting with small engine repairs, organizing tools and materials, general shop cleaning, and running parts and material deliveries as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and willing to help wherever needed in the shop. Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

A construction background is preferred. Experience operating small equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, and similar equipment is a plus. Light welding experience is beneficial but not required.

This position requires regular lifting and physical activity. A Class B CDL is preferred; however, Gast Construction is willing to train the right candidate to obtain their Class B license if needed.
